🚨VINEYARD UPDATE🍇☀️
Approximately two weeks after canes are cut, the leaves and rachis dry quickly, followed by the grape berries. Hot summer sun and wind help dry grape berries evenly so they can be machine harvested. After six weeks of drying, the grower will pull fruit samples to determine the moisture, which will help decide when to harvest the raisins. Fruit moisture below 14% works best for machine harvesting and removing leaves from the bins. We expect to start receiving beautiful California raisins as early as next week.

🍇☀️VINEYARD UPDATE🚨
The Central Valley has seen many days over 100°F (37°C) which can reduce photosynthesis and slow sugar accumulation. Growers will be continuing to irrigate the vines to get them through the heat waves. Although the heat has slightly slowed the sugar accumulation process, most varieties are on track for a normal harvest. Grape berries are losing their acidic taste and becoming sweeter as we get closer to harvest.

🚨VINEYARD UPDATE 🍇☀️
Growers will be continuing to keep a close eye on crop development. The vines have been growing rapidly with the warm temperatures and are looking strong and healthy.
Veraison has began across the Central Valley with most fields somewhere between 25% to 75% version. Berries on early ripening varieties are beginning to soften.
