Cinnamon Raisin Pretzel Bites with Whipped Honey Butter

Ingredients

Yeast Mixture

  • 2 ¼ tsp. yeast (or one packet)
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Pretzel Dough

  • 4 cups of flour (divided)
  • 2 cups of Sun-Maid Raisins
  • Pinch of salt
  • Activated yeast mixture
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2-3 tsp. of cinnamon

Whipped Honey Butter

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 Tbsp. of honey (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp. of milk if desired
  • Sun-Maid Raisins

Directions

    Combine yeast, hot water and sugar into a bowl. Let activate for 10 min.

    Add activated yeast mixture and 2 cups of flour to a mixture and let combine. Add a pinch of salt and the remaining 2 cups of flour until combined. Add in Sun-Maid Raisins.

    Let chill for 30 min to a couple hours with a moist towel over the bowl.

    When ready, section dough into strips and cut into 1 inch pieces. Boil 3 cups of hot water with ¼ cup of baking soda. Drop pretzel dough pieces into baking soda bath until pieces float.

    Place pieces onto a non-stick baking sheet. Top with melted butter and bake for about 20 min at 375°F or until golden brown.

    Combine sugar and cinnamon for the coating. Brush with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture and plate.

    To make the Whipped Honey Butter, combine butter, honey and milk in a mixing bowl and combine. Top the finished mixture with Sun-Maid Raisins.
